How I got the house of my dreams, twice!

Would you like to know how to get the perfect house?

Let me tell you a story.

Chris Attwood and I were scheduled to instruct a program in Copenhagen last year. At the time I was in India, and he was in Germany. The program was scheduled right after his birthday, March 12th, and we were talking about meeting in Copenhagen. I was flying in from India, and he would be driving in from Germany.

As we were talking I said, “Chris, why don’t you bring your wife, Doris, and my goddaughters, Sophie and Tiana, and my godson, Chayton, and let’s celebrate your birthday in Copenhagen!”

Chris enthusiastically replied, “Yeah, I love that idea!”

So Chris drove from Germany with his wife, Doris, and the kids, and I flew in from India and they picked me up at the airport in Copenhagen. We were all so excited!

As we were driving in the car, we said, “You know what, we’ve been talking forever and ever and ever about spending more time with each other, why don’t we do it? Let’s find a place where we can spend a little time together. Let’s find a really cool house!”

As we drove along one of them asked, “Well, where do we want it to be?” and I said, “Well gosh, I love Copenhagen! Did you know that 70 percent of the people in Copenhagen ride bikes? They don’t have a car, they’re real ‘green’ in Copenhagen! And they speak English, so many of them speak English and it’s so beautiful here! Why don’t we try to find a house here?”

Chris pulled over to the side of the road, and we said, “All right, we’re going to set our intention. We’re going to give it all we’ve got!”

So all of us, including Sophie, who’s eight years old, started putting in our order!

Some of the things that we said were along the lines of:

“I want the house to be near the ocean!”

“I want the house to be brand new!”

“I want the house to have a lot of beautiful, green, lush trees around it”

I also said, “I want it to be a two-story house where I have my part upstairs, and you guys have downstairs!” and we just kept going and going.

About an hour later, Chris called up a realtor and said, “We just arrived here, Janet just flew in from India and I just drove in from Germany, and we’re looking for a house that we can lease.” the woman said, “Well, you know it’s such short notice!” but after speaking with her for a little more she said, “Well, maybe I can show you four or five houses.”

And it was the third house that she showed us, it was in a beautiful location in Copenhagen, called Rungsted. We walked into the house and sure enough, there was an apartment upstairs, and a place downstairs. The house was brand new, no one had ever lived in it and was so beautiful! It had many incredible, lush, green trees and a Japanese garden around it. Chris happened to notice it even had a hookup for his Tesla. It was perfect, absolutely everything we had asked for!

And the last thing was, as we were talking with the woman who owned the house, we noticed that the girls were going over into her beautiful garden, which was right next door. We said, “Maybe this won’t work, because the girls are going over into your garden” to which she said, “Well I know I shouldn’t say this, but actually I’d prefer that!”

We were simply in awe, then she went on to say, “Oh and one last thing I didn’t tell you, your gated beach, it’s just a little walk away!”

We were stunned, we said, “Okay, this is it! This is the house!”

All we did, was just set our intention and let go.

We knew we created that! But when we’d tell other people, they’d say, “Well yeah, yeah yeah. That’s just like, some peculiar circumstance.”

So another time, was while Chris and I were in Italy. Chris has an apartment in the beautiful mountains of a town called Gignese, in Lago Maggiore, one of the most beautiful places in Italy about 40 miles outside of Milan.

Chris and I were driving in his car when I said, “You know, I’d really like to have a place here.”

So we called his realtor up, but all she said was, “Well I’m sorry, this is high season and there is nothing in this town.”

A few minutes later, I said, “Chris,” and he said, “Yeah?”, I said, “She’s not Janet Attwood!” and he said, “Well, what did we do last time?” and I said, “We just said what we wanted!”

So as we drove to Chris’s apartment, I started setting my intention.

I wanted to have wooden floors, I wanted magnificent views of beautiful Lago Maggiore, and I wanted a beautiful and incredible feeling of ‘nature’ surrounding it. And I also wanted it to be with a number of other apartments, I wanted it to be like a big ol’ villa so that I would have other people around because I love people so much! I also declared that all the people leasing the villa would love me! I spelled out what I wanted in detail.

Later on that day, as Chris and I were walking along in the mountains of beautiful Gignese, all of a sudden I saw a sign. I said, “Chris, does that say ‘for lease’?” and he said, “Yes, it does!” and it was a beautiful house on the mountain.

We went and rang the bell, and a man came walking out and said, “May I help you?”

I was so excited that he spoke English! I thought to myself, “He’s an Italian guy and he speaks English?!” and we said to him, “Yes, is there an apartment here for lease?” he replied, “Well, as a matter of fact there are two of them! Let me show you.” His beautiful wife then came out and we immediately connected, and they took us to see the beautiful apartment.

When they opened the door, sure enough, there were wooden floors! It had an incredible view of Lago Maggiore, everything! Absolutely everything that I had set my intention on was there. I looked over at Chris, and we were both simply in awe.
